The Coronavirus pandemic has just been on the rise and so are the cases in the state of Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the people of the country to observe the Janta Curfew yesterday and the public made sure to stay home. Celebrities all over the world have been insisting their fans to socially distance them from others and actor Suriya has joined the league. The ‘Soorarai Pottru’ star has posted a video on his Twitter account explaining the need to practice social distancing.
Let's all stay home and stay safe🙏#IndiaFightsCorona@Vijayabaskarofl @TNDeptofHealth @MoHFW_INDIA pic.twitter.com/q2BuBYDvvU

In the video, Suriya has said that Coronavirus has been spreading much faster than we thought, but the only thing we need to spread is awareness. He asked the people to fight from the inside of their houses as we have fought outside during the time of 2015 floods and Marina Jallikattu protest. The death toll in Italy is higher than that in China only due to the ignorance of innocent people living outside, and the actor said that India should not become another Italy. He then advised that everyone should keep a safe distance from each other, and they must wash their hands and feet when they enter any place. He also explains that when a victim travels by train or goes to a public event rather than isolating himself, all the people around him suffer, and asked the people not to make such a mistake. Doctors, government officials and cleaning teams have been working for us, risking their lives so we have to be at home to stay healthy. He then quoted a few words from The Thirukkural ‘Anjuvathu Anjamai Pethamai’ (It is foolish to say no to fear). Suriya requested people to be cautious and protect themselves for the next two weeks since it is very important to prevent the dangerous Coronavirus from spreading further.
Let’s hope people do follow what every other acting has been repeatedly saying!
