Union Cabinet has decided to change the name of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to Ministry of Education. The Cabinet has approved the change in the name of the ministry.
The HRD Ministry is currently headed by Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
A formal announcement on the name being changed from HRD Ministry to Ministry of Education will be made later in the day.
