Ever watched a rocket piercing through the Earth’s atmosphere and then illuminating amid a dark sky? A viral video claims to show the journey of a rocket after launching from Earth. It further claimes that the launch is exactly how it “seen by the International Space Station”.
The minute-long clip shows a rocket — the tiny object in the video — taking off from the earth’s surface and then crossing the earth’s atmosphere. The fiery, beaming object then undergoes its first stage separation and the “second stage boosters firing up”. The rocket, eventually, vanished into the dead of night.
At this moment, viewers can also see a separate booster firing much closer to the Earth’s surface. According to a news report, this particular visual suggests that the launch, caught in action, was most likely one of SpaceX’s missions.

The clip, shared by a Twitter user, is likely captured from one of the cameras aboard the International Space Station.
SpaceX, a company run by Elon Musk, designs, manufactures and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. It was founded in 2002 to “revolutionise space technology”.
On Tuesday at 7:29 am EDT, 11:29 UTC, SpaceX launched 60 Starlink satellites from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The first stage of Falcon 9 — a reusable, two-stage rocket — previously supported the launch of Crew Dragon’s first flight to the International Space Station with Nasa astronauts onboard and the ANASIS-II mission.
According to SpaceX, Falcon 9 is “a reusable, two-stage rocket designed and manufactured for the reliable and safe transport of people and payloads into Earth orbit and beyond”.
Following stage separation, SpaceX landed Falcon 9’s first stage on the “Of Course I Still Love You” droneship, which was stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
