Taking serious note of the air pollution in Delhi and its adjoining areas, the Supreme Court today asked the government to consider imposing a two-day lockdown to check pollution.
Hearing a petition to check air pollution in the National Capital Region, a bench headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana suggested measures like lock-down for a few days to deal with the level of air quality index.
The top court also said that air pollution is a serious problem and the deteriorating air quality has forced people to wear masks even at home.
