Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma on Tuesday said he does not consider police firing on civilians justified and such action should be resorted to only against terrorists and criminals.

Six people had lost their lives in this incident that took place about a week ago.
The chief minister said talks were on between the two northeastern states and any border adjustments would be through a committee set up by them for the purpose.
After chairing a cabinet meeting, he said, “Killing of civilians is not acceptable… Police should use their weapons against terrorists and criminals and not against civilians. I do not allow firing.
