The Supreme Court has stayed for 10 days the action to remove illegal settlements near Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura. The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition filed in this regard, has ordered to maintain status quo for 10 days.
In fact, the work of converting the Mathura-Vrindavan rail line from meter gauge to broad gauge has started. For this, the Railways is taking action against those who build houses on their land. About two hundred houses have been built on both sides of the railway line, from the birthplace of Shri Krishna to the Amarnath Vidya Ashram. Railway says that these houses have been built by encroachment on its land.
North Central Railway said that the encroachers were given notices in June this year. Despite being given a month’s time to vacate the house, these people were living here. After the lapse of time, the work of removing the encroachment was started. At the same time, the people who filed the petition in the Supreme Court say that they have been living there for more than 100 years.
