To help train Indian astronauts for the manned mission to orbit, Gaganyaan, India signed a deal with a Russian. The Indian Space Research Organisation has decided to send three astronauts on a life-supporting GSLV-MkIII rocket into low-Earth orbit. With this training, the astronauts will spend a total of seven days in orbit performing a range of experiments before returning home. A state-run organisation, Russian agency Glavkosmos, has taken on training of astronauts for the missions as well as support in medical examinations and the selection procedure itself. In its latest drive to become inclusive, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have invited Indian directors Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and veteran actor Anupam Kher are among the 842 new members invited as members for the Oscar Awards. The Academy, which is behind the annual Oscar Awards, has invited members from 59 countries and half of them are women. On the issue of oil imports, Iran believes that India will act in its national interest and Tehran can act as a “protector” of India’s energy security. Ali Chegeni, Iran’s Ambassador to India suggested that his country can provide “affordability, accessibility and security” of energy to India.
