The Central Government has approved setting up of one hundred 57 new medical colleges in three phases. Apart from this, 70 medical colleges are running in the country so far. The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharti Pawar has said that the Ministry has launched the Central Assistance Scheme to link new medical colleges with District Hospitals and Referral Hospitals. He said that priority would be given to those aspirational districts where there is no government or private hospital.

Maharashtra’s Minority Affairs Minister and NCP leader Nawab Malik has tendered an unconditional apology before the Bombay High Court for his remarks against NCB Regional Director Sameer Wankhede and his family. Malik said he had no intention of disrespecting or humiliating him.
