The Health and Medical Education Minister of Karnataka, Dr. K. Sudhakar has called upon the public to focus on preventing and predicting the disease at an early stage rather than visiting a doctor when sick.
Addressing the audience on the occasion of World Health Day in Bengaluru today, Dr Sudhakar said that air pollution and excessive use of processed and junk food are leading to lung and respiratory diseases, cancer, obesity and lifestyle diseases.
He asked for change in behavior and to be aware of non-communicable and lifestyle diseases. He appreciated the work of ASHA workers who took government health services door-to-door and thanked Chief Minister Bommai for increasing the remuneration of those workers.
