Brazil won Copa America 2019 at its home turf as a host after beating Peru by 3-1 goals in full time. Following the success the Celekao’sbecame Latin America champion for 9th time and after 12 long years, the team had bagged Gold in 2016 London Olympics.

Since then it is their first tournament where the football giant met another internationalsuccess. The victory also maintained their record of winning the Copa America every time they have hosted it.

Before being sent off through red card ManchesterCity forward Gabriel Jesus scored one goal in 70 minutes and assisted another to SausaSoares, who scored first goal in 15 minutes. Jesus’s contributions in the match led Brazil to bagged the tittle.

His cross for Brazil’s first was excellent, holding the ball up on the right before spotting an unmarked Everton at the back post, then picking out the striker with a pinpoint delivery.

Though Paolo Guerrero had briefly given Peru hope when he equalised from the penalty spot minutes before Jesus struck, he was shown a second yellow with 20 minutes left but Richarlison’s late penalty sealed the win.

After getting the red card in 70 minutesthe Manchester City star and Brazilian mid-felderhadturned himselfvillain from hero but the final whistle and score board made Brazilian supporter happy and few Brazilians celebrating as wildly after full time.

The striker, Gabriel Jesus has,struggled to deliver on the international stage – he failed to score a goal in five games at the 2018 World Cup – but was the standout performer in the first half of Sunday’s final.

Peru, who had upset the defending champions Chile in the semi-finals, were back on level terms just before the break when their all-time top scorer Guerrero converted a penalty, awarded by VAR for a handball by Thiago Silva.
