A Massive evacuation process were started in valley and around 6,200 passengers were flown out from Srinagar by Civil and Military Aircraft in the last 48 hours. This is confirmed by the Airport Authority of India on Saturday. On Friday Jammu and Kashmir government issued a security advisory over possible terror attack on valley and Amarnath Pilgrims.Taking the advisory in a serious note, over 6,216 passengers reported at Srinagar International Airport on Saturday for travelling out from the valley.
The AAI said that while 5,829 passengers travelled by 32 scheduled flights, 387 passengers were transported on four Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft. Passengers on IAF aircraft were flown to various destinations like Jammu, Pathankot and Hindon.
All the possible support has been extended at the Srinagar airport by ensuring safety and security of the passengers, the authority said.
