The first cricket test match between India and New Zealand has been drawn. New Zealand could only manage 165 for 9 in their second innings in reply to a target of 284 runs for victory on the final day of the match at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur.
Shreyas Iyer was declared the player of the match. Shreyas scored 105 in the first innings, while 65 runs in the second innings.
Ravichandran Ashwin has become the third highest Test wicket-taker for India after Anil Kumble and Kapil Dev.
Ashwin took six wickets in this match and so far surpassed Harbhajan Singh’s record of 417 wickets by taking a total of 419 wickets.
The second and final Test match of the series will be played in Mumbai from December 3.
