The grand old party, Congress, has lost its sheen. There has been a great deal of discrepancy in the operation in the absence of a competent leader leading the party. Vijayashanthi, an actor-turned that Vijayashanthi will join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday.

Vijayashanthi, who became involved in politics and entered the BJP in 1997, is recognised as Amitabh Bachchan of South Cinema. She was closely aligned with TRS Leader KCR during Telangana’s separate statehood movement.
After she contested on a TRS ticket and represented the constituency between 2009-2014, she became an MP from Medak. She left TRS and entered Congress in 2014.
Recently, actor-turned-politician Khusbu Sundar left Congress and joined the BJP.
Khushbu Sundar joined the BJP hours after she resigned from the primary membership of Congress, alleging “suppression”. She had joined the Congress in 2014.
