Militants belonging to terror group Taliban were attacked in Afghanistan’s Kandahar. The Defence Ministry said that fighter aircraft struck Taliban positions and hideouts in southern Kandahar province, killing up to 15 militants. five militants of the terror group were the casualities during the operation, which covered parts of the troubled Panjwayi district.
The ground forces, in tie-up with combat aircraft, will continue to strike enemy hideouts throughout Kandahar and its environs, according to the statement. According to the statement, 310 anti-vehicle and anti-personnel mines were recovered and defused from Panjwayi and the neighbouring Arghandab district.
Taliban militants operating in Kandahar province, which has Kandahar city as its capital and is located 450 kilometers south of Kabul, have yet to come up with side of remarks.
