Home Minister Amit Shah has described the Agneepath scheme as a revolutionary step. Shah said in a tweet today that this scheme will give an opportunity to the youth to join the armed forces and serve the nation with a better future. He said that under this scheme, youth of 17 to 21 and a half year old will join the armed forces for 4 years and serve the country through a transparent process.
Shah said that on completion of the service period, the youth will get an amount of more than Rs 11 lakh in the form of tax free service fund package, which will make them financially empowered. He said that this scheme will strengthen the defense system of the country along with building capacity and skill among the youth.
The Air Force Chief said that all the recruitment will be done under the Agneepath scheme. That is, the youth who had given the Airman exam, now their result will not come. They have to apply again under Agneepath scheme. The biggest blow for the youth who were waiting for recruitment for two years. Those youths will be disappointed who had cleared the medical and physical recruitment in the army.
