All preparations have been made for the launch of the third Chandrayaan mission today from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The countdown to the launch will end at around 2.35 pm today. The success of the launch of the third Chandrayaan mission is important not only for India but for the whole world as the valuable information from this mission will be useful for future space programs globally.
This mission shows that India is capable enough to make progress in the scientific field. The LVM-3 rocket is all set for this mission. The Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft will carry a lander and a rover and this will enable them to reach the Moon’s orbit. Under the Chandrayaan-3 mission, the equipment has been kept in two categories. The scientific instruments mounted on the lander and rover have been kept under the theme ‘Science of the Moon’, while the experimental instruments will study the Earth from the Moon’s orbit. It will be placed under the theme ‘Science from the Moon’.
If we talk about the purpose of the mission, then three main things are included in it. The first is to demonstrate a safe and soft landing on the lunar surface, the second is to demonstrate the rover’s journey to the moon and the third is to conduct scientific experiments.
