Major clashes erupted between the supporters of two political leaders of the Rayalseema district of Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP Tadipatri MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy and TDP ex-MP JC Diwakar Reddy, in the latter’s home. The followers of all the leaders peeled stones at each other and even torched cars.
The violence reportedly broke out after a few remarks from the social media about the ruling YSRCP MLA allegedly posted by supporters of JC Diwakar Reddy.
MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy himself led the attack in the presence of the police, and when he heard about it, JC Diwakar Reddy rushed to the location, leading to a big clash between the supporters of both leaders.
The police used intimidation to contain the crowd seeking to avenge assaults on each other. The Rayalseema district of Andhra Pradesh, ruled by the Reddy clan, is notorious for its violent political rivalries.
Reacting to the alleged attack, Nara Lokesh, Secretary-General of the TDP and son of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, said that the YSRCP MLA is acting like a “rowdy”
