Bangladesh Cricket Board has appointed former India all-rounder Sridharan Sriram as the coach of the national team for the upcoming Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. The Daily Star report quoted a BCB director as confirming Sriram’s appointment. It said, “Yes, we have appointed Sriram as the coach till the World Cup.”
It further said, “We are moving ahead with a fresh mindset and the new coach has been appointed from the Asia Cup.” T20 World Cup is our main target and for that appointment is necessary before Asia Cup so that they get full time.
Sriram played eight ODIs for India between 2000 and 2004 and was also Australia’s assistant and spin bowling coach.
Sriram was given the responsibility of spin bowling coach in 2016 under the guidance of former Australia coach Darren Lehmann.
