PM Modi slammed TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of having a “obstructionist mindset” that has cost West Bengal industries and jobs.
In response to Banerjee’s remarks that people attend BJP rallies after accepting money, the Prime Minister stated that such remarks harm people’s self-esteem.
The prime minister also made fun of Banerjee’s frequent criticism of Electronic Voting Machines and the Election Commission.
“She continues to criticize the EVM and the EC… If players continue to criticize umpires, you should be aware that their “Khela Sesh” (game over) has arrived “He stated this at an election rally in the Hooghly district.
Referring to the Singur movement of 2006-08, which forced Tata Motors to relocate its proposed small car Nano production unit from there, Modi claimed that the TMC used the location for political purposes before abandoning the people.
“Didi and her obstructionist mindset stymied a number of industrial, infrastructure, and connectivity projects.” I’ve never seen a political party take pride in stifling industries and development.
“We’ve all heard about what happened in neighboring Singur. They used it to further their political agenda and then abandoned the people. “It has no industries today, and farmers are in distress,” he said. Attempting to pierce the TMC’s poll plank of Bengali pride, Modi claimed Banerjee harmed people’s self-respect by claiming they attend BJP rallies in exchange for money.
“Didi has become agitated after sensing defeat. That is why she criticizes everyone and everything, from the EC to the EVMs. She is verbally abusing me. “Didi, do people in Bengal pay to attend rallies? Who are you insulting as you abuse me? You’re making a mockery of the people of the state “He stated.
Modi stated that he sensed the outcome of the Bengal elections on the day of voting in Nandigram.
“Didi, you betrayed people, you accept defeat,” Modi reportedly said, referring to Banerjee’s angry outbursts against central security forces and Union Home Minister Milind Deora. Banerjee is embroiled in a bitter feud in Nandigram with her former loyalist Suvendu Adhikari, who has joined the BJP.
Modi also claimed that Banerjee obstructed the implementation of various central schemes in order to appease her ego. Exuding confidence in forming the next government in Bengal, the prime minister stated that he will attend the BJP government’s inauguration ceremony and request that the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme be implemented as soon as possible.
