Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck took a spiritual dip in the Sangam on Tuesday during the Maha Kumbh held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev were present on this important occasion. Traditional rituals were followed in this ceremony along with Ganga Pujan.
The King of Bhutan and Chief Minister Yogi reached Sangam by boat from Arail Ghat, where they experienced Sangam bath. Special importance was given to the arrival of the King of Bhutan at Sangam, and Chief Minister Yogi and the King of Bhutan demonstrated sensitivity towards nature by feeding the birds. After this, both of them were scheduled to visit the Lat Hanuman Temple and Akshayvat for darshan-worship.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the King of Bhutan at the airport, showing his support for this grand event in Prayagraj. The Chief Minister welcomed him by presenting a flower bouquet and strengthened mutual harmony. The King of Bhutan also responded well to this goodwill behavior of the Chief Minister.
The King of Bhutan was welcomed with respect to Indian cultural traditions. Artists presented a glimpse of Indian culture through colourful performances, which Wangchuk appreciated.
On the occasion of Vasant Panchami, the last Amrit Snan was held in Maha Kumbh, in which crores of devotees participated. This sequence of bathing of pilgrims and Akharas continued on the banks of Sangam, in which special attention was paid to security arrangements. Extensive security arrangements were ensured at the pilgrimage site by the government.
