Law Minister Kiren Rijiju today introduced the Election Law Amendment Bill 2021 amid sloganeering by the opposition members. Members of the opposition Congress and Left parties opposed the bill.
He said that some provisions have been added in the Representation of the People Act of 1950 and 1951 by which Aadhaar can be linked with the voter list. The Law Minister said that this bill will ensure the system of a reliable electoral roll.
