The central government has issued new rules related to flying drones. According to the new rules, the Yellow Zone area has been reduced from 45 km to 12 km from the airport’s periphery.
No permission is required to operate drones up to 200 feet in an area between eight and twelve kilometers in the green zone around the airport. The capacity of drones and drone taxis to carry heavy payloads has been increased from 300 to 500 kg. The number of drone flights allowed has been reduced from twenty-five to five.
Now no security clearance will be required before registration or issuance of licence. The government has also reduced the fees for permission to operate drones to a nominal level. The amount of fine has also been reduced. The maximum penalty will now be Rs 1 lakh. However, this fine will not include punishment for violation of other laws.
