Chandrayaan-3 successfully completed its fifth and final orbit maneuver today

Chandrayaan-3’s fifth and final maneuver in the Moon’s orbit was successfully completed this morning. Chandrayaan is currently revolving in a fixed orbit of 153 by 163 km. ISRO told that tomorrow on August 17, the lander will be separated from the propulsion module. After separation from the propulsion module, the lander carrying the rover will land on the lunar surface near the south pole at 5.47 pm on August 23.

Chandrayaan-3 mission aims to land safely on the lunar surface and carry out scientific study and analysis of the surface through the rover.

ISRO said that now is the time for preparations as the Propulsion Module and Lander Module are getting ready for their separate journeys. The separation of the lander module from the propulsion module is planned for August 17, 2023. After this, on August 23, Chandrayaan-3 is to land on the surface of the moon, which will be watched by the whole world. The ISRO team continues to monitor the health of the spacecraft from the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network based in Bengaluru.
