China has congratulated the interim Taliban government of Afghanistan. Taliban Mohammad Naeem said in a tweet that China’s ambassador to Kabul, Wang Yu, met with the caretaker Afghan Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaki on Tuesday. Chinese Ambassador Wang told Muttaki that China respected Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.
China has defended the Taliban’s interim hardline government to restore order. China also supported the Taliban’s stand that its interim government would take legal action to bring back US-based Afghan deposits.
