A Pakistani Christian girl has been killed after her parents rejected a marriage proposal sent by a Muslim man in Pakistan’s Rawalpindi.
Officers at the Coral Police Station in Rawalpindi reported to have detained an accused named Faizan, while searches were carried out to apprehend the prime suspect, Shehzad.
According to the police, Shehzad’s mother is also said to have submitted her son’s proposal for the victim, Sonia, but her parents declined to marry her with a Muslim man, Faizan.
According to the police, on the day of the shooting, the girl was in the company of Faizan when Shehzad opened fire on her.
The police said that, after the probe in to the murder, it seems to have been carried out on the grounds of personal animosity.
However, the deputy inspector general (DIG) of police said the police were investigating all aspects.
Last month, a young Christian girl, Arzoo Raja, was reportedly abducted, forced to convert and marry a 44-year-old Muslim man in Karachi.
