Police detained several students who gathered at the North Campus of Delhi University on Friday to screen the BBC’s documentary on the 2002 Gujarat riots. Recently, similar uproar took place in Jawaharlal Nehru University and Jamia Millia Islamia.
The Delhi Police earlier detained the protesting students and members of the NSUI. After this, the police also detained some members of the Bhim Army’s student union.
Delhi University Proctor Rajni Abbi said that the I-cards of those detained will be checked to determine whether they are DU students or not. If they are from outside then police will take action and if they are from DU, appropriate action will be taken against them.
