Narendra Modi has asserted that the world needs to unite against covert or open support to all forms of terrorism as some countries support terrorism as part of their foreign policy. Addressing the 3rd Ministerial Conference “No Money for Terror” in New Delhi today on curbing the flow of money to terrorists, Modi said that countries supporting terrorism should be fined.
The Prime Minister said that it is known to all that terrorist groups get funds from many sources, one of which is the support of some countries. Modi said that wherever terrorist attacks take place, they should be taken seriously and there should be equal outrage and action against them. He said that if even one life is lost in the attack, it is an attack on all. The Prime Minister said that India will not rest until terrorism is eradicated. Modi said terrorism has long-lasting effects on the poor, especially the local economy.
The Prime Minister said that it is very important for this conference to be held in India because India has suffered the brunt of terror for many decades. Thousands of lives were lost due to terrorist attacks but India fought very bravely against it. He said that technology should be used to detect, trace and combat terrorism.
