The Ministry of Health of the Union has established a digital portal, including a smartphone application, to track the distribution of COVID-19 vaccinations in real time, to capture data and to enable people to enrol for vaccination.
Addressing a press meeting on Tuesday, Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said the forum, The Co-WIN digital portal provides a free downloadable smartphone application that can help record vaccine results. You should log on it if you want a vaccine. There are five modules in the Co-WIN app—Administrator Module, Enrollment Module, Vaccine Module, Beneficiary Accept Module and Report Module,” he added.
Bhushan said that the Administrator Module is for the administrators who will be performing these vaccine sessions.
The registration module is for citizens to be eligible for vaccines. It can upload bulk data on co-morbidity generated by local authorities or surveyors.
The vaccination module will check the recipient’s data and change the vaccination status, whilst the recipient’s recognition module will send SMS to recipients and even create QR-based certificates after one has been vaccinated.
