With the surge in Coronavirus cases in the national capital, the Delhi government has begun its war against the deadly virus by making an announcement on Tuesday that a night curfew will be implemented in the city with immediate effect.
The curfew will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. every day until April 30, or the end of the month. An official order will be issued soon to that effect.
According to the Delhi health department, the city recorded 3,548 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, while 15 more people died from the infection, bringing the total death toll to 11,096. The decision was made in light of the increasing number of Covid cases in Delhi, he added.
The case positivity rate in Delhi has also risen to 5.54 percent, owing to a significant increase in cases in recent weeks.
