A rehearsal for COVID-19 vaccination is ongoing in three centres in West Bengal, with at least 75 doctors involved in the programme on Saturday, a politician said.
The exercise began at 9 a.m. at the Urban Primary Health Centers in Duttabad and Madhyagram and the Amdanga Rural Hospital in North 24 Parganas district, he said.
“At least 75 people are participating within the programme at three centres. they need been asked to register their names for the vaccination mock drill. Their health condition are going to be observed for a minimum of half-hour after completion of the exercise,” the official said.
The rehearsal was part of a national exercise to verify the preparedness of the authorities prior to the start of the relevant vaccine programme.
The Center reported that the exercise was to be carried out by both state and union territorial administrations on Saturday to review the linkages between preparation and execution and to recognise challenges.Earlier, the rehearsal for vaccination was conducted in Punjab, Andhra Pradesh , Assam and Gujarat on December 28 and 29.
