The toll in the spate of violence that erupted in northeast Delhi this week has risen to 37 on Thursday evening, according to reports.
Since residents of violence-affected Chand Bagh have reportedly demanded more police deployment in their area, as they complained that there was a delay in police action.
Meanwhile, security forces held a flag march in the violence-affected Khajuri Khas area of northeast Delhi on Thursday.
Newly appointed Special Commissioner SN Shrivastava also visited the area on Thursday and said, “I’ve come here to assure people that we’re with them and for their welfare. People here have responded positively and assured that they’ll work together through Aman Committees to bring back the feeling of brotherhood.”
