Extensive arrangements have been made to ensure smooth conduct of Delhi Assembly elections tomorrow. Under this election, voting will be held for the 70-member assembly. On the day of counting and polling, Delhi Metro services will be available on all lines from 4 am, which will facilitate election staff and voters. In the initial phase, the metro will run at an interval of every 30 minutes from 4 am to 6 am, after which regular service will continue throughout the day. The Election Commission has given priority to the convenience of the staff deployed during this election.
Voting will be held tomorrow from 7 am to 6 pm. More than 69,900,000 voters will participate in this election, which will decide the political future of 699 candidates. The election campaign ended on Monday evening and the counting of votes will take place on Saturday.
The total number of voters in Delhi is 1,56,14,000, which includes 83,76,173 men, 72,36,560 women, 1,267 transgenders and 12,736 service voters. Apart from this, 79,885 Divyang voters are listed and the number of first-time voters is 2,39,905.
The Election Commission has arranged 13,766 polling stations for the voters. The people of Delhi will decide the fate of 699 candidates on February 5 and the counting of votes will be held on February 8. For this, 19 counting centers have been set up in 11 districts, which will ensure that the process remains transparent and smooth. In this context of Delhi Assembly elections, the administration has made all the necessary preparations so that fair and strong elections can be conducted.
