On Monday, the BJP-led government invited the 40 farmers’ unions to a meeting to revive talks on the Modi-divisive Government’s agricultural legislation on 30 December in Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi.
In response to the farmers’ letter on the resumption of talks, the Agri Ministry claimed that the government is committed to seeking a logical solution to the legislation and the minimum support price (MSP) for their goods.
The government is still committed to seeking a logical solution to all related issues with a strong purpose and an open mind,” said Taking note of the union’s request to restart talks, Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Aggarwal said in a letter to the unions, according to PTI.
In the meantime, Union ministers Amit Shah and Piyush Goyal are having a meeting at the former house to discuss the government’s plan ahead of the farmers gathering.
