For seven decades, J&K was governed by discrimination by previous government: Famida Bano joins BJP

In Jammu and Kashmir, a member of the Gurez Block Development Council (BDC) has joined the BJP. Famida Bano, along with a number of local leaders, was inducted into the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday at the party’s headquarters in Jammu’s Trikuta Nagar.

Famida Bano joined the BJP in the presence of former MLC Surinder Ambardar and District Development Council (DDC) member from Tulail in Gurez, Aijaz Khan.

BJP general secretary Ashok Kaul said at the induction ceremony on Monday that Famida Bano’s inclusion in the party will boost worker morale. Gurez is a highly sensitive and strategically important constituency in Kashmir’s Bandipora District.
He went on to say that there is neglect and deprivation as a result of discrimination by traditional political parties that have governed Jammu and Kashmir for the past seven decades.

Famida Bano stated that she joined the BJP with the intention of being able to serve the country in a more empowered capacity. While thanking the BJP leadership, the BDC chairperson from Gurez stated that she will not let the party down.

Famida Bano told media outlets, “I will work to empower this most important pillar of democracy.” Former BJP legislator Surinder Ambardar stated that with the sincere efforts of BJP leaders, Gurez will be developed as a model constituency in the future.

For the last three decades, the people of Gurez have demonstrated patriotism by rejecting separatism and terrorism, according to Surinder Ambardar. He went on to say that the people of Gurez are “wedded to nationalism and echo Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.”
