Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Chandrababu Naidu was sent to jail for 14 days by a Vijayawada court. He was arrested in the corruption case in Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation. In this case, on December 9, 2021, an FIR was registered in the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation in a corruption case of Rs 371 crore, in which 25 people including Naidu were named. Naidu was made accused number-1 in this case.
He was presented in the court in this corruption case, after which the court sent him to jail for 14 days in judicial custody. He was produced in the Vijayawada court. The special team of CID had taken the lead to arrest Naidu and arrested him in front of many workers. At the time of his arrest, Naidu had also asked why he was arrested, but he did not get a satisfactory answer.
In this case, CID has alleged that Naidu gave undue benefits to a private company in exchange of bribe in Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation. The company had got the contract to work for skill development schemes. However Naidu has denied all the allegations. He has said that he is being made a victim of political vendetta.
