The constable opened fire with his weapon, killing an RPF assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and three other passengers aboard the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express at around 5 am, an official said. According to a senior police officer, the accused RPF jawan is mentally disturbed. Zee Media correspondent said that the accused constable had fired 12 bullets. The accused fired from an ARM Gun which is similar to AK47. The accused shot all the three passengers at different locations in B5 coach.
According to the police officer, Chetan Kumar Chowdhary shot his escort duty in-charge ASI Tika Ram Meena in the moving train. He said that after shooting his senior, the constable went to another bogie and shot three passengers. According to the official, the accused tried to escape from the train between Mira Road and Dahisar, but the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel caught him and also recovered his weapon.
The official said that the bodies were taken out of the train at Borivali railway station. He told that the accused RPF jawan is currently in the custody of Mira Road Railway Police.
