Young Indian Grandmaster R. Pragnanda has won the prestigious Reykjavik Open chess tournament. In this tournament held in Reykjavik, Iceland, he scored seven points five in nine rounds.
16-year-old Pragananda defeated India’s GMD in the final round yesterday. He defeated Gukesh. Pragnanda remained unbeaten for nine rounds and defeated Mathieu Cornet of France and Gukesh of India in the last two rounds.
He recently came into the limelight after defeating world number one Magnus Carlsen in an online tournament.
