BJP Leader Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday provided a strong call to topple the Trinamool Congress from authority in Bengal because it led the “padayatra” in the Jhargram district.
Mr Adhikari, sporting a saffron ”tilak” on his forehead, chanted ”Hare Krishna Hare Hare, BJP Ghore Ghore” (BJP in every household), as a battery of BJP workers cheered for him.
Some of his supporters also raised the slogan ”TMC sarkar aar nei darkar” (we dont need the TMC government any longer), while holding high lotus symbol cutouts and saffron-coloured balloons.
Mr. Adhikari, who crossed the TMC to the BJP in December last year, has been stacked across from his ex-party leader and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in a do-or-die contest in Nandigram.
The former state cabinet minister, while speaking to the press, said he’s actively campaigning for BJP politicians Paschim Medinipur and Jangalmahal every so often.
By the way, Mr. Adhikari’s former partner, Mamata Banerjee, launched a public conference in Nandigram for most of the day, as he did for BJP candidates in Jhargram.
