Monsoon rains are causing havoc in Himachal Pradesh. Due to continuous heavy rains in many areas of the state, people are facing problems. At the same time, due to the incidents of landslides, the troubles increased further.
On August 14, a massive landslide occurred in the Summer Hill area of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Rescue operations are underway by NDRF, SDRF, Army, local police and home guards. SDM Shimla Bhanu Gupta says that 12 bodies have been recovered.

CM Sukhu had told, “20-25 people are trapped here (Summer Hill, Shimla) under the debris. 21 people have died in the last 24 hours in Himachal, I would appeal to people to stay indoors, avoid going near rivers and landslide-prone areas, restoration work will start as soon as the rain stops.
