India defeated West Indies by two wickets in the second ODI cricket match. India have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series with a win in last night’s match in Port of Spain. India chased down the target of 312 runs in the 50th over. Axar Patel scored 64 runs for India.
Earlier, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. West Indies scored 311 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Opening batsman Shay Hope scored a brilliant 115 while captain Nicholas Pooran scored 74 runs. Hope became the 10th player overall and the fourth West Indies player to score a century in his 100th match.
Shardul Thakur took the highest three wickets for India. The third and final match of the series will be played in Port of Spain on Wednesday.
