On Wednesday, India saw the number of deaths from the virus in India surpassed 2 lakh, with 3,286 people dying in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, the country’s daily deaths reached a new high, surpassing 3000 for the first time since the pandemic began last year. Only the United States (5.7 lakh), Brazil (3.9 lakh), and Mexico (2.15) lakh have a higher death toll.
The number of people who have recovered from the disease is 1,48,17,371, with a case fatality rate of 1.12%, according to data updated at 8 a.m.
Active cases have risen steadily to 29,78,709, accounting for 16.55 percent of total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has dropped to 82.33 percent, according to the report.
The death toll stands at 2,01,187,
