India today sent medical supplies to Afghanistan as part of humanitarian aid. These medicines will be handed over to the WHO representatives in Kabul and sent to Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Kabul. Relief material was sent by the same aircraft in which 104 people stranded in Afghanistan were brought to India yesterday.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that under Operation Devi Shakti, a total of 6 hundred 69 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan so far. There are 4,48 Indians and 2,6 Afghans, including members of the Afghan Hindu and Sikh minority communities. In the month of August this year a total of 5 hundred 65 people including 4 hundred 38 Indians were evacuated from Afghanistan.
