India has urged the world community to unite to meet the humanitarian needs of the people of Afghanistan. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said in New York that the agencies involved in providing humanitarian aid to the Afghan people should be ensured direct and unhindered access to the people in distress.
Addressing the foreign ministers of the G20 countries on Afghanistan, he stressed that the Taliban must fulfill their commitment to not allowing Afghan soil to be used for terrorism. Shri Jaishankar said that the whole world looks forward to a comprehensively inclusive process in which all sections of the Afghan society are represented.
