Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said today that the rapid economic recovery in the Indian economy after the COVID-19 pandemic is an indicator of strength. He said that despite COVID-19, India is still one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
Sitaraman said that the importance of skill has increased and the industry has started recognizing this. The Finance Minister said that the banking sector of the country has also shown a commendable improvement after the pandemic and new age industries including startups are becoming very important for the growth of the Indian economy. He made it clear that India is fully committed to the goals set out in the COP-26 Summit.
The Finance Minister urged the Indian industry to help the country meet the COP-26 goals by increasing capacity and investment in green fuels. He said that the government is working towards reducing the burden of compliance for the private industries in the country.
