Indian team announced for Asia Cup

BCCI has announced the team for the Asia Cup tournament. The competition will take place in the United Arab Emirates from the 27th of this month. Rohit Sharma is the captain of the team and K. Ale. Rahul will be the vice-captain. Virat Kohli will also be a part of the 15-member squad.

The Asia Cup will be played from 27 August to 11 September. Six teams will participate in the tournament. India’s first match will be against Pakistan on 28 August. Fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have been ruled out of the Indian team due to injuries. The board said that Bumrah and Harshal were not available for selection due to injury. Both are on rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru to get fit. Bumrah was last seen on the field in the ODI series against England. He is battling a back injury.

At the same time, Harshal is battling a rib injury. Harshal also played his last international match against England, which was T20. However, the names of the players who were dropped from the main team include batsman Shreyas Iyer and left-arm spinner Axar Patel. Iyer and Patel will be the standby players.
