It is the people’s decision, NDA will form the government: Nitish Kumar

The decision to make the chief minister for Bihar in the BJP-led alliance NDA party will be solely decided by the BJP-led NDA and the alliance is analysing the election results for now, said Nitish Kumar

During a press conference on Thursday after the results of the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. “It is the people’s decision. NDA will form the government,” Nitish Kumar said.

Responding to questions about the oath-taking ceremony, JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar said that the date has not been finalised as of yet and the process may take three-four days. He told media outlets, “It is not decided yet when the oath ceremony will take place, whether after Diwali or Chhath. We are analysing the results of this election. Members of all four parties will meet tomorrow.”

“NDA will have its meeting and decision will be taken. We are analyzing the results. Every seat is being analyzed. We are also analyzing the issue of dent into vote bank,” JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar said referring to whether or not he will remain the chief minister.

Nitish Kumar told reporters, “I have made no claim, the decision will be taken by NDA.”

Lashing out at Chirag Paswan whose part contested on 137 seats and managed to secure victory only on a single Assembly seat, Nitish Kumar said the LJP fielded candidates against all of the JD(U)’s candidates.

“We worked relentlessly for the welfare of the people and for the development of the state. We worked with dedication,” Nitish Kumar said.

Claiming that Bihar’s crime rate went down and rate of development accelerated during his tenure, Nitish Kumar said, “I do not make any promises personally, the public is the boss.”
