The Election Commission today issued a notification for the first phase of the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Voting for 43 seats will be held on November 13 in this phase. October 25 is the last date for filing nominations. Candidates can file their nominations from 11 am to 3 pm.
This time, the BJP will contest the elections in alliance with AJSU, Janata Dal (United) and Chirag Paswan-led LJP. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha will contest the elections with Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal and CPI-ML(L). BJP will contest 68 seats, AJSU 10, JDU 2 and LJP 1 seat.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on October 28. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 30.
The Jharkhand Assembly elections are being held in two phases. The first phase polling will be held on November 30, while the second phase will be held on November 20. The counting of votes will take place on November 23.
