A Delhi court on Wednesday convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife and former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and their daughter Misa Bharti in a case related to the alleged land-for-jobs scam. Gave bail Lalu reached the Rouse Avenue court at around 10 am. However, the hearing of the case started late. The three family members appeared before Justice Gitanjali Goel at around 11 am.
Earlier on March 6, the CBI had reached Rabri Devi’s residence in Patna where she had questioned the former CM. The very next day, on March 7, the CBI team reached Misa Bharti’s residence in Delhi. Here the CBI had interrogated Lalu Yadav in the scam case.
Three days after questioning, the ED team raided about 15 locations of Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav and their family and close friends. During this, the ED had claimed that during the investigation, it had come to know about the economic crime of 600 crores. ED said that 1 crore cash, $ 1900, 540 grams of gold and 1.5 kg of gold jewelery have been recovered.
