The Karnataka government has made wearing masks mandatory in schools, colleges, movie theatres, pubs, restaurants and bars in the state. The order issued yesterday has made testing for Covid mandatory in cases of Influenza Like Illness – ILI and Severe Respiratory Infection – SARI. In the guidelines, restrictions related to Kovid have also been implemented during the celebration of New Year.
The minister also said that the celebrations on New Year’s night should end by 1 am. The Health Minister said, ‘New Year’s celebration in the state should end before 1 am. There is absolutely no need to panic about Kovid-19 and only caution is needed. ,
In a meeting on the subject of COVID-19 on December 22, the state government had already decided to make wearing masks mandatory in closed spaces and air-conditioned rooms. It was also informed that random screening of 2 per cent of international passengers arriving in the state would continue till a revised directive comes from the Centre.
