The Modi government at the Center has formed a committee regarding One Nation, One Election. The committee will be headed by former President Ramnath Kovind. Ramnath Kovind will work on the modalities of holding simultaneous elections of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the country. PM Modi has been insisting on holding Lok Sabha and Assembly elections simultaneously since 2014.
PM Modi argues that if Lok Sabha and Assembly elections are held simultaneously in the country, then expenses will be reduced. This will not put a burden on the government treasury. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that there is a session of the Lok Sabha on 18th September in which it will be seen how one nation one election is conducted.
Let us tell you that a ‘special session of Parliament’ has been called from 18th to 22nd September in which five meetings will be held. Nothing has been said officially about the agenda of this special session of Parliament. However, this session is going to be held on September 9 and 10, a few days after the G20 summit in the national capital.
